Sin to Synergy Institute · Twelve-Month Arc

Twelve months is enough time to genuinely change how you lead — if the work asked of you is real.

Twelve commissions across four phases, each grounded in a real geopolitical or institutional context and mapped to the Sustainable Development Goals. The briefing arc compresses from a 72-hour full pack to a 45-minute session-start briefing to no briefing at all — and the twelfth commission, The Seal, returns you to the commitment you sealed on day one.

Cursus, non minor — the course, not the lesser thing
Parallel, Not Lesser

The same arc.
A different tempo.

Opus Synergiae — the flagship twenty-commission programme — is composed across eighteen to twenty-four months. Cursus Synergiae is not a shortened version of that great work. It is a parallel work, designed from its foundations for twelve months rather than twenty-four: different commissions, different settings, its own capstone. The seven-skill arc is identical. The SDG grounding is identical. The quality of development is identical. Only the tempo differs.

This is the right choice when a leadership team has a genuine twelve-month window — a strategic period, a post-merger integration, a new programme cycle — in which intensive development is both appropriate and possible, not when an organisation simply wants Opus Synergiae faster.

The Four Phases

Twelve commissions.
A compressing briefing arc.

Each commission is grounded in a real geopolitical or institutional context, fictionalised enough to protect against false impressions of specific organisations but genuine in the complexity of the human problem at its centre. As the programme advances, the briefing shrinks — from three full days of preparation to no notice at all — and the commissions demand more skills operating simultaneously.

Phase 1 · Foundation · Commissions 1–3 · Monthly
Layers 1–2 · Full Briefing

72 hours of preparation material per commission. The facilitator observes without intervening; the debrief names what happened. PF01 The Debt Threshold (SDG 1), PF02 The Corridor (SDG 3), PF03 The Inheritance (SDG 4).

Phase 2 · Development · Commissions 4–6 · Monthly
Layers 3–4 · 48-Hour Briefing

Higher complexity, larger stakeholder maps, more entrenched incentives. PF04 The Grid Question (SDG 7), PF05 The Wage Floor (SDG 8), PF06 The Data Compact (SDG 16).

Phase 3 · Integration · Commissions 7–9 · Three Weeks Apart
Layers 5–6 · 24-Hour Partial Briefing

Multiple skills required simultaneously. The observation logs shift from what happened to what changed — is it becoming natural? PF07 The Shoreline (SDG 14), PF08 The Seed Bank (SDG 2), PF09 The Compact City (SDG 11).

Phase 4 · Mastery · Commissions 10–11 · Two Weeks Apart
Layers 6–7 · 45-Minute Briefing

All seven skills required. The facilitator now watches for which skills have integrated and which are still consciously deployed. PF10 The Forest Accord (SDG 15), PF11 The Transition (SDG 13).

Commission 12 · SDG 17

The Seal.
Not the twelfth commission. The answer to the first.

Before any scenario work begins at Commission 1, every participant completes a Phase I Strategic Readiness Assessment — a structured, individual commitment to the skills they will develop, the dysfunctions they bring into the programme, and the changes they believe twelve months will produce. The facilitator seals it. No one sees it again until The Seal.

The Seal is a LION-class operation — a National Emergency Leadership Council scenario run at strategic command level, with a 45-minute briefing and no advance notice. The crisis is not designed around the sealed assessments after the fact; it surfaces the same dysfunctions that any genuine pressure would reveal.

Phase I (45 min) — LION briefing. The room does not yet know the sealed assessments will return.

Phase II (90 min) — The operation. Strategic command under live crisis conditions.

Phase III (30 min) — Post-Incident Leadership Report, written individually, not yet discussed.

The Return — Sealed Phase I assessments distributed. Fifteen minutes of silence while each participant reads what they wrote against what they just wrote.

The Debrief (60 min) — What was kept. What was not. What changed in twelve months. What did not.

Programme fees

Direct — £13,500 per participant — the full twelve-commission arc, all briefing packs, Decision Logs, Commitment Cards, the Phase I Assessment, The Seal, Programme Completion Record, and Synergy Score at entry and exit.

Sponsored — £14,400 per participant — organisationally sponsored individual places within a cohort.

Commissioned — £10,800 per participant, minimum 12 — commissioned by an organisation for its own cross-functional cohort.

Founding — £5,400 per participant — the founding-cohort rate for organisations committing early to the programme's first runs.

Cursus Synergiae sits above Condotta and below Opus Synergiae in the Institute's fee structure — a positioning decision reflecting the programme's depth, not a pure per-hour calculation. An organisation considering Cursus Synergiae is encouraged to experience the framework first through a SITUS or MERIDIAN session before committing to the full twelve-month arc.
